blobs :) - student project

I really enjoyed this - my first real go at trying to paint animals.  I love that it's such a quick and simple way to paint and working with watercolour and having to move quite fast with minimal brush strokes was a good challenge to not be too 'fussy' or perfectionist about it.
I had a humbling blob of doom where my yellow leopard turned into some type of meerkat with tiny front paws - a good lesson to focus more on perspective!!

Often at the time I thought some looked quite 'blob'ish ... like when parts of the body overlap and blend into one, at the time I thought 'oh dear' but actually looking back I can at least tell what I was going for and it gives the impression of the animal! Some of the pen faces I like but a few may have been better left to the imagination (honestly, I left a few of the weirder ones out!)

(Also Easter wasn't my word of choice in July!...this was a scrap piece from a few years ago! )
