Hello and thank you for this wonderful tutorial. 

First of all, the tools :D

I made cola pens before, but I didn't think of cutting the tip to make a broader nib, until recently. I know, silly. Donno how I missed that. Anyway, I think the method teached in this tutorial is quite interesting and helps obtaining a long-lasting tool. Not sure why it should be long-lasting, it's so easy to make, but I guess it covers the attachment one would build over time, for one's handmade instruments.

I didn't have a broad wood piece like Jackson here, so I used what I had around. May not be as comfortable as the tool presented in the tutorial, but it works for me. Also, I made the tip 5mm wide, call me a cheater, but at the time, I thought it would be a bit easier to write with.

 

Ok then, writing. Challenge: writing big. I do own a 6mm Pilot Parallel pen, but I admit I rarely use it. I prefer the 3.8mm one, or even the 2.4mm one. So writing big was a bit of a problem. On the other hand, writing big eats paper like there's no tomorrow. My eye twitched as the used paper sheets started to stack one over the other. But it was good practice.

So here are my shots at this humanist script. I had some trouble getting the minuscule "a" right. I have yet to practice the capitals.
