Watercolor birds - Black & Orange Flycatcher
I always loved to paint birds but was a bit scared that I would mess up. But after taking Amarylis's class on watercolour birds I found it really easy and gained confidence. I followed the 3 basic steps of how she paints the bird i.e adding the base colour, mid tones and highlights. I had so much fun painting! Thank you for being such a wonderful teacher, Amarylis.
Before I started painting using watercolours, I sketched an Australian Palm cockatoo using the basic principles and I was so excited it came out well. Then I moved on to watercolours although I was a bit nervous.
I enjoyed each and every step!
I added various marks and lines for texturing the bird. I used a white gel pen and a black micron pen to add the highlights. The best part was watching it all come together.
I enjoyed this class and learnt so much from it. I would recommend this class to anyone. By the way, this was the first time I ever painted a bird in watercolours.
