I really struggled with this tutorial. I’m an absolute beginner and I only had cold pressed paper to hand not hot pressed. 

I might try this again on hot pressed paper when I have a little more experience of my materials.

 

The two images are the same painting just in slightly different lighting.

 

I'm not happy with the end result but if I don’t try I’ll never get better
