Ukranian Folk Art - Easter Eggs
I absolutely loved doing these eggs! I had gouache in pans that I was going to use, however, it wasn't very flexible nor easy to mix, so ultimately I shifted to my watercolor palette for the background colors and white gouache for all of the folk art decorations. On the chocolate egg, I used Mission Red Brown in lieu of Perylene Violet. I got some bleed-through of the watercolor paint, however, I actually kind of loved the soft lavender look of the petals and so didn't worry about it. I definitely need a LOT more practice making those drop shapes and finding an ideal brush for the dots! I am guessing it takes practice to make them so beautifully uniform, but now I am hooked on this type of painting and look forward to doing more, so I'll get more practice. :) Anna does a great job explaining the techniques and demonstrating them, too. Thank you for a great class!
