Try to be brave
If I was very brave I'd climb that tree
Id howl at the fog being boundless and free.
Id scream and id shout until my lungs burnt like ash
Id dive through the water I wouldn't just trash.
The branch would hold me with thorns in my palms
The stars wouldn't tame me, I wouldn't beg to do harm.
I wouldn't need to destroy the ghosts in my ear
Time running out wouldn't be my greatest fear.
Id kiss his cheek or chase that dream
Running wild and free right down to the stream.
My legs should ache with hope preserved at all costs
The ticking clock shouldn't remind me what I've lost.
I don't have to feel tapped, I don't have to feel small
I don't have to panic about the climb or the fall.
The sun will shine as I emerge from the cave
Borrowed time as a reason to be strong and brave.
