I recently drove 1800 miles from Wisconsin to Arizona and decided to try journaling with procreate and then in my journal after I was home. 
I made a huge discovery...the procreate notes were far more successful because after 6 days I lost the spontaneity when journaling. 
I was tired at the end of the day so grabbing my iPad to journal the trip was perfect. Got all my photos and notes done before I fell into bed. 
I will add the journaling I tried 6 days later. 
I am so happy I tried this because I found the solution...use procreate exclusively when traveling.
