Minimalistische Botanik: Eine Strelitzienblüte mit gemischten Lavierungen in Aquarell malen

All beauties, Olga, but how’d you fit them all on one page? What size paper? These would be beautiful in some sort of assemblage to hang in matching frames, like 3-up?  There are some great colors in the mix for pairing too!

Slightly bigger than A4. I'm mostly getting paper in big big sheets and cut them in so it's not any standard size usually. 

Ah ha! You used one big sheet of paper. Looks lovely all together. Pre-Covid, I was studying watercolor as a newbie who is in the American WC Society and also a close friend of my friend who is an amazing watercolorist. Anyway, the advice I got was to buy large sheets of Arches then cut them. I look at the price now from 2020 and am glad I have this bundle of treasure. I only cut one piece in all those years, but I am now convinced that paper really is the most important supply!

I'm just using what I have and whatever. If I will run out and won't be able to get more, I will just stop.I just ran through 20 big pages of non-cotton "watercolor" paper and I used the cheapest paint that I own but even that acts and looks soo much better on cotton. I can't do anything with that paint on celulose. It just feels completely pointless. These flowers are on satin Fabriano. I don't like it, but it's totally possible to paint on it, just not the feeling that I like. But that cheap paper (NOT cheap enough, not sure if I bought it or got it but it's not worth that basic preschooler grade of drawing paper qualitywise and google says that it's price is like ten times more) is just a misunderstanding. That is 100% waste of money cause it's not worth anything in context of watercolor. I'm mostly using Fabriano cause it's significantly cheaper than Arches (not cheap though and TOTALLY not cheap considering that I want that sheet to be at least medium size and preferrably big).I still have some Arches, and some Fabriano (unavoidably running out of the latter though), everything what I did on Arches is significantly better looking than Fabriano cause damn me, I like it the most.When I don't like the results, I'm just trying to paint it better on the other side and that's how much I figured that I can do. I will use it though cause what's the point in doing that? I surely won't learn anything by not painting and it brings joy so...
