The Paul Flower
I lost the luminousity I was going for very fast in the process, so decided to darken all the colours and head towards the late-afternoon look where the dying grasses take on the warm, brown glow instead. Some muddiness in the corners happened when I added my darks - they bled right into my lights due to impatience on my part!
Lovely little class that I enjoyed. I really expected the process to go a lot smoother due to the "simplicity", which proved me wrong! Thanks again Paul, for sharing your Paul Flower :)
Supplies: Used Daniel Smith Hansa Yellow Medium, otherwise all Winsor Newton Cotman colours. I usually use Bockingford, but this was painted on a really old block of Canson Aquarelle paper that was gifted - im not sure I enjoyed this paper much at all (lots of buckling that wouldnt flatten during the drying stages like the Bockingford).
EDIT: second pic is a quick line and wash on a little gift card - MUCH happier with the field's brightness and it took about a tenth of the time!
