The Finish Line Keeps Moving, Doesn't It? 🏃♀️💨
Who else feels like the "chase" both fuels you and utterly depletes you? Some call it ambition, others call it ‘the dream’, but sometimes it just feels like a never ending race.
I remember being younger and wondering why grown-ups never seemed to catch a breath with all the busyness. Once you finally join the grown-ups, all you see is the ever demanding system with retirement ages creeping up, leaving you with a small window of "free time," often spent dealing with chronic exhaustion and illness.
This is where the oldest wisdom comes in. God knew we would reach this point in our journey. That is precisely why, in the story of creation, He specifically set aside the 7th day to rest. It wasn't an afterthought; it was part of the original design.
You might say it was "just the seventh day," but trust me: one day of conscious rest equates to one year of survival in a world as demanding as ours. I don’t mean rest while scrolling all social media apps and completing a 5 season Neftlix series. I mean connecting with nature and the people that matter the most.
Don't wait for burnout to force you into a halt. Be fiercely intentional about setting aside time to rest, recharge, and reconnect with the people who truly matter. Because once you are gone, you fade to the world, but for those who love you, you forever remain a vacuum that can’t be filled.
📞 Call that friend. ✈️ Book that trip. ❤️ Go on that date. 🥗 And please, enjoy all those good foods (in a healthy way, of course!).
Your life is happening now. Choose rest. Choose connection.
