The Cosy Cup Café Profitable Sales Funnel

The Cosy Cup Café Profitable Sales Funnel - image 1 - student project

For my project, I created a profitable sales funnel for a fictional local café called The Cosy Cup Café.

The goal of this funnel is to attract local coffee lovers, turn them into first-time customers, increase the average value of each order, and encourage repeat visits through a simple loyalty programme. The funnel is designed for people who live, work, study, or regularly spend time near the café.

The strategy begins by using local traffic sources such as Instagram ads, Facebook ads, Google Search, local flyers, and shopfront signage. These traffic sources direct people to a simple free coffee offer, where they can join The Cosy Cup Club and receive a free regular coffee on their first visit.

Once someone signs up, they receive their free coffee voucher by email or SMS. This creates an easy, low-risk reason for them to visit the café. After that, the funnel introduces a low-cost tripwire offer: an $8 coffee and pastry combo. This helps turn a new lead into a paying customer.

The core offer is the regular café visit, including coffee, breakfast, pastries, lunch, and takeaway drinks. From there, the café increases profitability through profit maximisers such as large coffee upgrades, food add-ons, coffee beans, seasonal drinks, reusable cups, and office catering boxes.

Finally, the return path focuses on bringing customers back through a loyalty programme, weekly specials, birthday vouchers, referral offers, and retargeting ads. The overall purpose of the funnel is not just to sell one cup of coffee, but to turn first-time visitors into loyal weekly customers.

This funnel follows the key stages covered in Digital Marketing Strategy: Profitable Sales Funnel Fundamentals, including product/market fit, traffic source, lead magnet, tripwire, core product, profit maximiser, and return path.
