I know that this class was about stylizing objects and not animals, but my favorite hobbies are reading and illustrating, and I didn't want to try stylizing books or my iPad... so I went with a secondary hobby of mine: birding! 

For the final project, I actually decided to go for different pigeons and doves instead of seagulls, since I liked the color variation more. 

This was a really important exercise for me, because I have a hard time stretching reality (as Tom points out in the beginning of the course). I had to keep reminding myself that these aren't meant to be 100% accurate illustrations for scientific bird classification, and that I'm allowed to use my imagination and simplify!
