Starry Night Walks with Grandma

On clear nights after supper, my grandma and i would take a walk in the garden and she would point at the stars and show me the Big and Small Dipper, telling me stories of her own childhood, in relation to whatever else we saw or chanced upon. A firefly. The breeze. The smell of night flowers (Dama de Noche). When I got older, a fire gutted our house and all our belongings - photos and precious memories - to ashes. We overcame this tragedy by grace, with prayers and by the help of some good people. And so I am grateful to have this wonderful way to go back to those beautiful moments of childhood by drawing my childhood home. Thank you very much Claudia Melchor del Rio for the inspirational concept and approach which i find so creatively meaningful and that allowed me to "draw" from this marvellous memory of childhood, reliving it anew through making art which is also one of the things I love. God bless you!
