Hi Sheila. I love both your ideas. They are so fun and the second one is simply adorable! I really like the idea of having a grey elephant splash colorful water on the peacock. I am excited to see the color flow from the elephant to the peacock. While you can stick to realistic peacock colors of blue/green, you can also use other colors not typically found on peacocks and have a little fun with it. I'm so excited to see this progress. Thanks for sharing your work!

Oh and I just realized that it will get very tricky to do your background wash around the water drops. You can work around this is two ways:

1. Keep your background color light and something that can work with the colors of the drops. So a light yellow or blue background will work with green/turquoise drops or a light yellow or pink background will work with pink/red/orange drops. And just paint over the drops while doing the background instead of trying to avoid them.
 
2. Use Temporary Masking Fluid if you have it. Cover the drops with masking fluid. Once the masking fluid dries do the background wash over the drops. You can remove the masking fluid by gently rubbing it off with your fingers once the background wash is dry. And when you are using masking fluid, protect your brush by using soap + water instead of just water.
