Social Media Marketing for Selling Character Art for Fanfiction Writers

Social Media Marketing for Selling Character Art for Fanfiction Writers - student project
  • Target customer pain points:
    • The overuse of AI to create book covers and design characters in many fanfiction apps such as Wattpad.
    • The use of such is often motivated by how AI created art pieces but completely lacks in the uniqueness and emotions made by human artists, and has been known to be trained to steal many artists' art styles.
  • Your solutions:
    • A clear commission process where commissioners will have more details about the commission such as clear guidelines and direct communications via Instagram & Twitter
    • Offering commissions to have optional pricing for simple designs (book covers, character design portfolios) ranging from $5 to $10
    • Incorporate discounts and/or extra rewards for commissions above $10 (character illustrations, detailed book covers)
  • Direct content pillars:
    • Instagram: Interactive stories with the audience (ex. talk about topics relatable to artists and non-artists), and reels that showcase behind-the-scenes of each art piece and Timelapse videos.
    • Twitter: Reaching out to writers who would post links to their works, using a Thread strategy to explain the process of Character Design and a brief explanation about original characters and supporting other artists as well.
    • Ko-Fi: Provide exclusive behind-the-scenes content, like sketches, concept art, or insights into every design process, and offer exclusive digital downloads, such as character sketches and wallpapers as rewards for supporters.
  • Complementary content pillars:
    • Sharing methods for staying inspired by different media, nature or culture may help with overcoming art block
    • Hold Q&A sessions to answer questions about each design process, tools, or tips for fellow artists
    • Have an Instagram Channel to directly interact with the audience (although for this one, I haven't had any plans for it yet)
    • Offer insights into my favorite digital art software and explain how they can enhance my workflow.
