Sketching Everyday People

I started in sketching figures from memory but that didn't work because my heads were too small so followed along with the examples that Patricia gave.

The first day was outfits and that was fun...
Two pages on that day (because my sketchbook is small.)
The next day was devoted to figures who were just sitting around in various positions.
Without Patricia's prompting, I don't think I could ever get away from just straight pen sketching. Way too nerve wracking and fear about getting sizes right.... but actually the results were pretty good.
The third day was figures in movement and I really did run out of room even with pencils... I just can't judge who much space I have on a page, especially because I start at the head and work down to the feet... (gulp. No room for the feet!)
It was very freeing though to NOT use a pencil... If only I could just be brave!
My final sketch, with color, was of my grandson on his T-ball team. I stuck with a rough draft in pencil for this one because it will stay in my bullet journal/diary/sketchbook.
Thank you Patricia for showing me that sketching figures IS possible and I just need to keep practicing with a bit of courage!
