Shading Tut

Shading Tut - image 1 - student project

My final project features a pairing of Gouda cheese, Sangria, and Ritz Crackers. To enhance the visual appeal, I opted for color-toned shading on the cheese rather than grayscale, making it look more appetizing.

For the wine bottle, I needed to clearly distinguish the grapes in the logo from the actual wine color, so I kept the grapes as a flat, solid hue. I also experimented with blending modes to create highlights that mimic light refracting through the wine.

For the crackers, I wanted to give the illusion of thickness beyond the original sketch, so I used textured highlights and shading to add depth. Finally, I achieved the wax paper wrapper effect using a cracked-paper brush for a realistic finish.
