Screen Print Poster Effect - Zoo Characters

For this fictional zoo poster series, I focused on celebrating the distinct personalities of the animals through a minimal yet purposeful design. The layout employs a line grid to compartmentalise elements, bringing structure to the composition while maintaining creative freedom in the design.
To simulate the layered effect of screen printing, I incorporated three key layers: a base layer, a character layer, and a typography layer. This approach not only mimics the tactile process of screen printing but also allows each poster to build up a unique depth and texture.
The use of multiple layers also facilitates a dynamic colour palette that brings vibrancy to the campaign, while the grid structure adapts to different compositions, framing the characters in various ways.
This project demonstrates how grids, often seen as rigid constructs, can be used to enhance a design. Rather than restricting creativity, the grid provides a solid foundation that supports organic, free-flowing visual elements.
The result is a design that balances clarity, structure, and dynamic visual flair, showcasing how thoughtful grid usage can elevate the poster design process.
