This piece was a battle. I'm a portrait girl and there's something about birds that I can't quite grasp. 

I was workig my way through resistance and a feeling of wonder. I embraced the mess and worked in my own tricks for taking back some control after I've lost the plot. Bit by bit and layer by layer I came closer to capturing the corvids that I adore so much. Birds continue to push me out of my comfort zone and I think that's why I keep returning to them.

The measurements are still a bit off but this is by far the best bird I've ever created.
