Removing Background with Photoshop

Removing Background with Photoshop - student project

Hi Anna,

thank you so much for this class. This was exactly what I have been looking for. I want to get into the print on demand business so I need to learn how to prepare my paintings. To be honest I have watched other classes from other teachers with a similar subject but they were clicking and talking around so fast (and I kept on going back) or even just skipping big steps so at the end I didn't get it.

So my goal was here to have an invisible background. I used the Magic Wand tool and also worked with the eraser when I created the black fill layer. I think it is going to take a while before I get the hang of it. This took me forever to do. I kept on switching back and forth between your videos and my document. I took notes the first time around but then discovered that I still had trouble and had to re-watch some parts again.

Also I used an older Photoshop Elements Program instead of the expensive Adobe Photoshop Version. I have all the same tools, some things look a little bit different (for example when I created the black fill in layer) but at the end I could do all the same things.

So here is my image I hope it shows up right:

I will certainly check out your pattern class as well.
