"R" for RECREO - Logo Design with Grids
My final result: this "R" for Recreo, a brand centered around books, toys, and objects that encourage children to learn through curiosity and play. The challenge was to create a symbol that felt bold and memorable, while leaving room for warmth and imagination.
Logo design has always been one of my weakest areas, as my work is more focused on branding systems, visual identity, and creative direction rather than logo construction itself. That's actually why I decided to take this class.
I have to admit I struggled to follow some parts. The instructor's level of expertise is impressive, and because of that, many decisions and technical processes happen very quickly. Topics like grids, proportions, and geometric construction were sometimes difficult for me to fully understand without more detailed explanations. Still, the course was incredibly inspiring and pushed me to explore an area I'm less comfortable with.
The first image shows my initial direction.

As I iterated, I started noticing subtle rabbit/squirrel-like shapes emerging from the geometry, which felt like a fitting nod to the playful spirit of the brand. The later explorations embrace those accidental discoveries, and I'm still experimenting with color and refining the final mark.

Far from perfect, but a valuable learning experience. Stepping outside my comfort zone reminded me that even when logo design isn't my strongest skill, there's always something new to discover :)
