Summary of where I got to with POD type. A single source  or almost POD will best for me for a start. I am slightly leaning towards wanting to control the process more using a print on demand source and shipping it myself, but ultimately, know that at this stage in my life, i need more flexibility of time, so hopefully handing the job over to a third party will free up that aspect. Ultimately, I will trial this and see what sticks!
