Practicing Stronger Pattern Making Techniques

I picked one of my most frustrating patterns for this exercise, a discarded one called I Love Ewe. I love the idea and I think the sheep are cute. I like the play on words but I was not fond of the rubbish filler motifs I used and there was too little contrast in the tonality. I have made a fun texture for the background, improved the spacing between the sheep, enlarged the text, and simplified the pattern quite a lot. I think it would make a nice receiving blanket or valentines duvet to snuggle up with a lover in. That was the thinking behind the design anyway. The pink is the before, and the blue is the after. If I were to rework it, I'd like to make a ditsy pattern. The trouble is I don't know how to place motifs in a ditsy pattern in Photoshop. If anyone can suggest a Skillshare course that can help with this, please do. Thank you.Practicing Stronger Pattern Making Techniques - image 1 - student projectPracticing Stronger Pattern Making Techniques - image 2 - student project
