Thank you. Was trying to pick a background that would make the pomegranate stand out. Yes I did use acrylics. I tried dry brush but I'd apply one color, then by the time I mixed and applied the second adjacent color to blend with, thinks were already drying.So I tried to add a little water to reactivate the paint. Didn't work that well.

I really like the color combination of the pomegranate and the grey-blue. That's a beautiful contrast. Did you use acrylics? They can be hard to blend, as they dry so fast. For a subject like this, you could try dry-brushing to create color transitions. Use a stiffer bristle brush with hardly any paint on it (move it around on a different paper first to make sure it doesn't have too much paint on it). Then move it across the areas where you want the transitions in small circular motions.
