Class duration : 60 minutes (if lucky)

Nbr of students: 9 max

Age of students : 6 to 11 years old.

 

1/ Teacher reads a short poem/text about an animal (cat, dog, bird or horse); so children calm down, focus and listen to some english. (They are reminded beforehand that it is okay not to understand ! They are here to learn !) (1-2 min)

2/ Teacher and students exchange : which word did they recognised, which ones they would like to know, etc... (5 min)

3/ Students tells every animal name their know in their native langage / Teacher writes them down on the white board. (10 min)

4/ Teacher give the names in english + fun fact, asks students what they know about the animals mentioned. (15-20 min)

5/ Students write down at least five new words + translation in their notebook. (20-25 min)

6/ If there is enough time : Mimic or Pictionary ! A student mimics/draws an animal and the others must figure out which one it is (in english of course!)!
