Hi Carmen - wow, great background! It really adds warmth and atmosphere to the painting. The penguins are really well painted, but I would agree with your own analysis that the black could be a bit stronger - you could always add another layer to strengthen the tone. The white highlights in all the eyes are just a little bit to big, maybe use a black pen to touch a bit more black on these small areas. I think the little chick is delightful and overall it's a lovely family scene. Best wishes, Carrie

I really like the cold background and the warmth painted on the penguins. Nicely done. I’m still scared to do animals but I’ve gotta get there, right? Your work if nice to look at!

The ground looks very icy and slick, and your penguins look very sweet. Really like the sky too!!

Love my background. Probably did not make the black mixture black enough but  maybe they are just stressed out looking at their wierd baby chick!
