Peacock Butterfly
Hey Brigette, Fun class! I wanted to take your Holiday wreath class but realized I didn’t have all the supplies, but since I still wanted to take one of your classes I decided on this one. I haven’t painted much with acrylics and this class was very helpful. I had so much fun just collecting different gadgets to use for the many techniques you demonstrated and talked about. The one canvas I had was 11x14, a little bigger than I wanted, so I downloaded a larger peacock butterfly. I used carbon paper which didn’t really work as good as your tracing paper & white chalk, but I made do. I have many old stencils and started out using one, but then switched to the palette knife. The golden gold paint I had worked, but I would have liked the gold to stand out more. I used 3 different brands of paint. First, I used Himi & Golden fluid acrylic. The Himi seemed more translucent, and I only had three colors in the Golden including the gold. I switched to an old unopened box of Maria’s acrylic tube paint and that seemed to go on smoother and more opaque. The project was fun and even though I had trouble with the paint, I got some experience working with it and some tools. Thank you for your helpful guidance and continued support here on Skillshare!
