Pattern Doodles and Spring-Toned Drips

I haven't done all ten exercises (yet), but I enjoyed doing the ones I did. I kept things pretty limited. I used a set of micron pens (05 in colors, then 03, 05, and 08 in block) and used up a palette of water colors I had.

I didn't quite do the word cloud as intended (or any of them really haha). I did a word association within the clouds and mainly played around with patterns.

I found out that I hate the lyric spiral so it was good I chose a short poem ("I Sit By the Fire and Think" by JRR Tolkien). After I had started it in the center, I realized it would be cool to do the three main pieces as their own spirals so I ended up numbering the order for the poems. Then I just did a fun page of shapes in different colors.

For the watercolors, I had a bit more trouble with finding the right consistency especially for the drips, but I think they turned out fun. I added the pen doodles and font practice to help make the lighter paint colors pop a bit more. I think the drips turned out like neat shelves, and there are a few nice looking leaves and flowers in the bunch. (I should clarify these were a mixture of brush tip flowers and blob flowers but I changed plan half way haha)

Overall, this was a lot of fun and really helped me get out of my own way for a few minutes and get back into just having fun with my art. It helped to go fast without thinking too much and see what I came up with.
