This was a fun class! I used a paint brush for the first time on my gelli plate. Usually I use a brayer and often use printmaking inks. The isopropyl alcohol didn't work very well but the results were interesting anyway. I experimented for a few hours - couldn't stop once I started! I didn't have any laser printed image to try on my prints but will try it when I have the time to stop by the library to have some photocopies made. I like the results and took Froyle's advice to experiment and have fun. That's what I did! I didn't use any fancy paper - just ripped pages off my sketch pad and the results were great. Some of the background are perfect to add an image transfer to. First I painted the plate and added some alcohol then printed. After that I started using stencils, dried flowers and my fingers to add marks to the plate before I pulled a print. Once I started using fluorescent orange, my colour palette changed. That was cool to see the evolution from start to finish. I also used kraft paper and black paper to print on to see what would happen.
