New River Gorge Scene
Here's my painting that I made from life while sitting at the New River Gorge! I know that I'll be able to flip back through my sketchbook in the future and remember this day and setting so clearly because I spent so much time painting there.
My main challenge with this piece was taking my time with it and letting the layers really dry between each new layer. It was really sunny and windy, so it was hard to be patient! But the experience was totally worth it. :)
I chose to photograph my artwork with a grassy background because it contrasts nicely with the white sketchbook pages. Also, I liked the yellow fall leaves because they made the yellows in my painting really pop!
