Bilderbuchillustration: Erstellen Sie Ihr Portfolio

Hi Nicole! Lovely collection of work, thanks for being brave and posting it for feedback. Here are my top three things to work on: I find your collage work stronger and more appealing than digital illustrations and would swap those sections on your site.  My other suggestion for improvement is removing the large text from the illustrations and just having the illustrations speak for themselves. I'm talking the big text, like "wind blowing", "they call me wild cactus" and the "Road to Oz" title. They all distract from the lovely illustrations and I think they would be stronger without text.  Third, I dont know based on just the image here if the thumbnails open up into different formats (horizontal/vertical) when you click on them. If the thumbnails are showing the whole images, my suggestion for next steps would be to add some variety to your portfolio. Make a few more horizontal pieces, and maybe a few more spots or vignettes to show you can design layouts other than a vertical single page format.   And 4th bonus tip, if you don't mind drawing people, I would add several pieces with people/kids to your portfolio. Now it is almost all animals and most stories out there feature kids.  I know that digital illustrations are faster and easier to work on than collages, and I would continue to work in both, but definitely see if you'd have time to create a few more illustrations for the collage set to give it a bigger presence. They really have great textures and color palettes and are interesting to looks at.  Hope this is helpful feedback for you. Great job in general on putting it all together.

Hi Mirka, thank you so much for your feedback, I really appreciate it a lot! :)  I thought I had pressed reply earlier, but seems like the reply is not showing. So I retry now.  I am really glad you find my collage works better, I really love collage, and I certainly have more to add onto the portfolio.  Noted on removing the text titles. As for layout, these are the full pieces, so I will need to work on more layouts types. Drawing humans are my weakness, so will need to improve on that to include more children.  Once again, a big thank you for taking the time to review this! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thanks Miriam for this lesson, it is very clear, well explained, and easy to follow.  I hope I managed to include most of the points that was mentioned. Appreciate if you could give some feedback. Thank you!
