I modeled my lava lamp on my physical lava lamp, so I used a dark purple and magenta gradient for the alcohol, a yellow and orange glow for the blobs, and a traditional silver base. I also played around with the speed and size of each blob! This one runs a little quickly--about the speed of a lava lamp after it's been running for a few hours.

I've created tons of lava lamps over the years--physical and digital--and I'm always mesmerized by their movement. Here are a few others I made using the techniques in the class and used in the thumbnail, including one with lava words as a custom base!
