I'm a sole proprietor with an Associate degree in Accounting, and I use cash basis accounting with Peachtree Accounting Complete. I don't currently have designated business expenses. I'm operate from home, and I consider the maintenance of my home a personal expense. When I am able to afford putting my website back up on the internet, hosting and domain name fees would go into the business category. I like cash basis single entry accounting because I can see clearly what came in and went out and when it happened. No guessing games are involved. I know exactly what I have and how much of it I can spend.
