My First Plein Air travel Kit

My First Plein Air travel Kit - student project

My First Plein Air travel Kit - image 1 - student projectThis class gave me the push to put together a small starter kit for outdoor sketching & painting.  I had most of the items already...just added an inexpensive water brush to the mix.  The box was from an old set of oil paints.  I added the colored paper to the lid and covered it in several layers of Mod Podge and then added shelf liner to the inside bottom and lid because it will lay flat and give me more work space.  I currently only use a sketchbook for outings but look forward to making a board for my lightweight camera tripod soon.  For now, I’ve included a set of paints, pencil, waterproof fine liner pen, water brush, travel watercolor brush, spray bottle, eraser in a box, and a six well mixing tray.  I add a paper towel to the top before closing it up and throwing the box in a tote or backpack.  Thank you for the helpful tips on plein air painting gear!
