Moroua

Moroua - student project

"Moroua" was inspired by the tragic love story of Tristan and Izelut, especially how their love transcends earthly life after their death, becoming something eternal. I wanted the song to reflect the deep longing, emotional vulnerability, and complexity of relationships that come with such a profound connection. The lyrics (written in Greek) came from a place of waiting and anticipation, and I chose atmospheric production with low-fi synths and beats to create an eerie, introspective vibe that matched the sense of timelessness I wanted to evoke. The melody is soft and reflective, complementing the emotional tension in the lyrics. The chorus presents a brief, fleeting connection, while the bridge deepens the unresolved emotions. Through "Moroua," I aimed to blend poetic storytelling with an atmospheric soundscape, capturing the emotions of love, separation, and the idea that love can transcend life itself.

Lyrics Translated

VERSE 1

How do you run through the woods like a voice?
Who is trying to capture you?
Like a shadow beneath the light of the stars,
I’m waiting for you, I will see you.

CHORUS
A breath on my pale skin you will softly leave, before you fade away,
And my lips, one last time, you will touch,
Before you come, high above, to find me.

VERSE 2
You cry, always searching for ways to hide,
You want us to be together, right now.
And though I know a bitter end will find me,
I will wait, I will see you.

BRIDGE
There, no one will ever know why you and I did not fade away.
