Mini Masterpieces

Mini Masterpieces - student project

This was actually a very challenging project for me. I had a difficult time composing something abstract, using marks with no 'end goal' image in mind. Towards the end, I finally just scribbled a note giving myself permission to color outside the lines and just fill some space. That too ended up looking literally, like 'space.' Totally unintentional, but it is what came from my hands today. This is the first project I am sharing on Skillshare, and with some trepidation because I am way outside of my comfort zone, but I think that's a good thing. It feels like I am having to force something from very deep within which I have yet to reach, and that to me, is the real challenge here. I felt at a total loss with everything; color, composition, media... like picking up a brush for the first time in some ways, even with the most simplest mini's. I must admit though, it was a bit exhilarating. So here I go, on a new journey with art, and I couldn't be more excited! The 'Big Impact' of this class has been on me, now to get it to the paper.
