Maple leaves - student project

Thank you for this great tutorial! The subject was so fun with the vibrant colours but also challenging. While I am used to wet on wet and wet on dry for details I have little experience with painting larger areas wet on dry.

I will most probably repeat this painting since it was not only helpful and fun but also showed me where I must still practice.

I had problems with my Alizarin Crimson, I only have a tube from Winston and Newton, Cotman Series. When I opened the tube a lot of gum arabic came out and it just smeared especially the second layer. I tried again on Centenaire paper, it was even worse there. This version was done on Saunders Waterford. I ordered some new Alizarin from Daniel Smith this time and will redo the painting. Especially the water drops and the areas under the water need more practice.
