Map Drawing II - Terrain Features
This is class II of Daniels Map Drawing project.
I started with the map from class I. While doing this second class I recognized two obstacles with my map from last lesson:
1. Its to small. The Map outlines are 2-3px. So details can not painted in noticable thinner lines. Big learning here
2. My textures doesnt work very well. I think Daniel might possible have a point in using a simple color background without much structure ;)
First Step - Mountains
Love Daniels style but had a bit trouble reproducing it. The tiny brushsizes makes it hard to draw thin details.
Step 2 - Rivers
I liked this part. Felt natural. I just found it hard to decide how many rivers to paint. Stayed with the big ones.
3. Woods, grasslands and terrain
Was wishing for a tree-brush in this part. And I downloaded them. And then I opted to do it by hand. I added fields and pastures, which are not part of the lessons and I was not soo happy with them.
4. Final Stage Class II
Messed around with the fields and colored the lines of terrain. Seems a bit to bright now, but I will fix this in the coloring lesson. Now on to labels and icons!
