Hello Agnes, It is beautiful! You can try it with ink + watercolor too ) Love the colors, so vibrant and fresh. Looking forward to seeing more)  Botanical illustration can give you a feel that you are overworking it, but you didn't) some artists are painting up to 20 layers. And yes it takes forever)) but the fact that layers have to dry in-between allows you to work on the same artwork for days and it is a good observation practice.  Thank you for watching my classes and for all your support! Thank you Irina! Oh 20 layers?! That's a lot:) I think I ended up with 6-8 layers and have a feeling that each layer made the flower look more flat ;) So I decided to use ink on my big magnolia branch as I feel it suits my style better. But still I have used plenty of the tips that you shared in class and decided to paint around 4-5 layers in addition to ink :) 

My little artist is fine :) Thank you. She lost a bit of her momentum to paint often, but still paints with me sometimes ( she even took up your challenge and has painted along with me a hot air balloon :) )

The branch is amazing, soo beautiful! I love every piece of it, and I like your background better than mine) I think every artist decides for himself how many layers are enough it is all the part of the personal creative style). I don't have the patience for more than 6 layers myself. This week was so busy, my little challenge needs to be scanned, I tried taking pictures with my phone but I didn't like them, attempted to post few but then removed them anyway to keep your feed nice)) Thank you so much for watching my classes and being a huge support and motivation. I hope a lot to meet you in person some day at a cup of coffee or tea and may be even sketch together.

As for photos on instagram I also don't like the picture taken by the phone. Usually if I can't scan the painting I'm taking photos with dslr camera. Quite good and much faster option, if the light is good, is taking photos on ipad. Surprisingly they look quite good.

Which was a rather good move ;) I've spent waaay too much time painting just one flower and I feel like I have overdone it. I definitely will have a few more tries at painting magnolias, because after watching your wonderful class I know that it's possible to paint them beautifully. And I love magnolias :) Although I have to admit I'm tempted to add ink to watercolors :D Thank you for another lovely class Irina!
