Loose equals creative

I enjoyed this lesson and left a good review. When I began to learn to paint/draw, I strove for realism (and never met it). One day, I did a 5x7 portrait I wasn't happy with. Like an angry kid with a crayon, I scribbled paint all over my finished work. Something went off in me like a bell - I liked it -- I did more scribbling, splattering with no plan in mind. It's one of my favorite paintings because it taught me the meaning of looseness and freedom. I surely could have explored color more in my "play" but the experience remains branded in my brain. I still struggle with realism. This course is a great help!
