🐭 The Little Mouse and the Lion 🦁

(Storytelling style for kindergarten children)

Teacher voice – slow and expressive

Children… today I am going to tell you a story about a tiny mouse and a big, majestic lion.

Now everyone show me your tiny mouse face…

(make small face, wiggle nose)

Squeak squeak!

And now show me a big lion face…

(open mouth wide)

ROARRR!

Good! Let us begin.

🌳 The Mouse in the Jungle

Once upon a time, there was a little mouse who lived in a deep, dark jungle.

The jungle was full of tall trees, thick bushes, colourful birds and buzzing insects.

The little mouse loved to explore.

He would run here…

(run fingers on palm)

He would run there…

He would climb roots…

He would jump over stones…

Tip tip tip tip!

Now children, do you know how long mice live?

A mouse usually lives about 1 to 2 years.

And this mouse was one year old, so he wanted to explore as much as possible!

He made many friends — parrots, monkeys, deer, and even frogs.

The jungle was full of wonders!

🦁 The Sleeping Lion

One day, while exploring thick bushes, the mouse saw something huge…

Something golden…

Something shiny…

Something breathing slowly…

Hoooo… Hoooo…

It was a lion!

Oh children, this lion was magnificent —

His mane was like a golden sun around his face.

His paws were as big as coconuts.

His tail moved slowly… swish… swish…

His nose was big and black and shiny.

He looked like the king of the jungle even while sleeping.

The mouse said,

“Wow! What a big fluffy pillow… I mean lion!”

🎠 Mouse Playing on the Lion

The naughty little mouse got an idea.

He climbed the lion’s tail…

Climb climb climb

He slid down the lion’s back…

Wheeeee!

He jumped on the mane…

Boing! Boing!

He ran up the lion’s nose…

Tip tip tip!

Then slid down again…

Wheeeee!

Children, have you gone to a slide in the playground?

The mouse felt like he was in a playground!

But suddenly…

The lion’s nose twitched…

His ear moved…

His eyes opened…

ROOOOOOARRRR!!!

😱 The Lion Catches the Mouse

The lion woke up angrily and caught the mouse in his big paw.

The mouse started crying,

“Squeak! Squeak! Please don’t eat me! Please don’t eat me!”

He begged,

“Dear Lion King, please let me go.

One day I may help you!”

The lion laughed loudly,

“HAHAHAHA! You? Help me? You are so tiny!”

But the lion thought for a moment…

He was a wise lion.

He said,

“Alright, little mouse. I will let you go.”

The mouse said,

“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

And he ran away

Tip tip tip tip tip!

🪤 The Hunter and the Net

Many days passed.

One day, a hunter came into the jungle.

He had a rifle in one hand and a big net on his shoulder.

He saw the lion sleeping and quickly threw the net over him.

WHOOSH!

The lion was trapped.

He roared and cried like a scared cat,

ROAR! HELP! ROAR! HELP!

🐭 The Mouse Saves the Lion

The little mouse heard the noise.

He ran very fast,

Tip tip tip tip tip tip!

He saw the lion trapped and said,

“Don’t worry, my friend! I will help you!”

The lion said sadly,

“I am sorry I laughed at you.”

The mouse said,

“That’s okay. Friends help friends.”

Then the mouse started chewing the net with his sharp front teeth.

Chomp chomp chomp

Chew chew chew

Chik chik chik

Slowly… slowly… slowly…

The net broke!

The lion was free!

🤗 Friends Forever

The lion picked up the little mouse very gently and gave him a big hug.

They became best friends forever.

From that day, the big lion and the tiny mouse walked in the jungle together —

One big, one small —

But both very kind.

🌟 Moral of the Story

Children, what did we learn?

Never think someone is too small to help.

Kindness always comes back.

Big or small, everyone can be a good friend.
