I decided to stick with a single initial to start off with.  I used some paper strips that came free with a magazine, but they weren't thick enough, hence the ripples along the straight edges - just as Colo said!  

I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out considering this was my first ever attempt at quilling. Thanks for the inspiration Colo.

The wobbly lines in my first attempt have always low-key bothered me, so 8 years (!) after my first attempt I have finally gotten around to updating the project 😄🥳.
