K. Wroten Emulation

For this Porject, I went with an attempt to emulate the inking style of a graphic novel I recent read Ttitle "Everyone Sux But You" by K. Wroten.  This was a very recent graphic novel, being released around 2 months, and I quite like it for both is heartfelt story about overcoming grief and it's very grungy art sytle.

To start I went with a digital sketch of a bunny, as rabbits were a very important symbol in the story, as it relates the main chacarter's childhood.

Next was the inking, I used Krita's rough pen to emulated the inking style of some th epanels of the novel. Wroten uses a brush with a little bit of texture to it and I found that the rough pen was the best match. I also try my best to give the lines weight to match the book's style.

Final was the shading and coloring, which was the part I had trougl with the most. The book itself has a heavy use of a light purple as an accent color though the whole book, as well as a shading style that is very odd with a use of brush strokes of purple and basic hatching. As much as I tried, I felt that I couldn't quite compare the exact method of shading used.

Overall, I'm happy with the result.
