Love the mix of styles in this! And the final color and texture works really well. The only thing that feels awkward to me is "places" the curve in the cross bar of the "a" starts to make a shape, and my eye goes right to it. I also think the "s" can be simplified, maybe instead of curving upwards to the "e", it goes straight under the "e" that might give you more space. Overall, great piece!

Step 2: Digitizing my drawing in Photoshop. (I have purchased Kyle Webster's Dry Media brushes - they are awesome!) I got a bit frustrated with my Wacom Bamboo (I wish I had Cintiq like you, Mary Kate :-))
