Intuitive acrylic flowers

Intuitive acrylic flowers - image 1 - student projectFirst class with my basic range acrylics and on a piece of cardboard as didn’t have a canvas. Comparing my effort afterwards with the tutors I can see I got quite carried with my mark making! However, I had an enjoyable afternoon playing around with this and I’m hoping it will have kick started me back into daily painting. I intend to do each project in this class (with my available materials) and hope to see my improvement as I go - especially with my palette choice of paints. I had carefully chosen a photo of colours I wanted my colour matching definitely is much brighter than I had intended. Thanks for a lovely class. I look forward to looking at your other classes after this one @artbeguiled. The bottom image is after I toned my photo down to reflect the colours I had aimed for …. I also rotated it as can’t decide which way up I prefer

 Day 2

Again using my available supplies which sadly mean only fine point posca pens. No local art shop meant I couldn’t treat myself to more sadly. This time round I really got into the dot dot dot zone. I like the outcome and am amazed how differently my first two efforts have evolved.

Third piece done today. Again, making do with materials I had which meant the piece was on an art board approx 12 x 18 inches. The board was extremely textured even after a really thick coat of gesso. It was hard to work the paint into all the surface texture. I tried to use colours similar to the class but they are not high quality acrylics and coverage was poor. I pressed on regardless and as always, the process becomes the enjoyment of the piece. But the end of the day I was despairing a little as I felt I had lost my way colour wise but here it is. A sweet little representation of an enjoyable day playing with paints and exploring pattern making.
