I love abstract portrait painting. I learned professional watercolor painting from one of the best in the business. Those art college days were great memories.
In this video I’m showing you my step by step process of how I paint pop art Watercolor portraits. The background is done with a wet on dry Watercolor technique then the Watercolor is mixed on the paper to achieve this texture watercolor technique that I use when painting.
The Video also shows you some professional Watercolor mixing techniques and is very helpful if you are trying to learn color theory with Watercolor paint. Avoid muddy watercolor, when painting is often a beginners toughest challenge. Keeping washes clean and colourful in Watercolor painting is a technique that everyone should learn.
The nature of Watercolor is that it bleeds so learning how to chose the right paint Colors is crucial to achieving brighter clean result. This video did not get deep into the abstract watercolor portrait technique but it's a great way to get started.
