How to Draw: A Beginner’s Guide - Part 1 of The Drawing Laboratory
Thank you for the lessons Brent! You are excellent artist and teacher!
Some pictures from my practice.
I tried to draw as light as possible. But when I wanted to make some bolder lines I couldn't repeat the line I wanted to make darker and ended up with wobbly or "hairy" lines on top of my first lines. I hope I will learn how to do it better with practice.
I wonder it is something to do with a drawing board that it is not steady or with how I sit. I hold drawing board on my knees and the upper part on the side of the table.
I will try at the easel and see if it helps.
Practice of finding shapes in nature.
I found this photograph of group of deer I saw a few days ago in the park.
It is a good practice to draw with simple shapes firs start with the gesture line, then with the biggest shape, and then refine to the smallest shapes.
It is really helps with drawing animals.
