Hey! I used an actual sketchbook!

Rainbow Ribbon

I've balked on using actual sketchbooks until recently. Impeded with a back issue, I didn't want to miss all art possibilities during this downtime.  So, I pulled out one of many blank sketchbooks with waterecolor paper to enjoy color-play. It was a novel experience since I was not able to get to my regular art spaces, so I worked mostly on a couch with watercolor  pencils. The rainbow ribbon was my favorite!

Colored Eggs

Watercolor pencils worked great for the eggs too. More fun. Not delighted with the speckles for which I used actual watercolor, a dilute Daniel Smith pinkish-brown.

Triads

For triads, I chose two approaches, both with Lukas watercolors -- lemon yellow, cyan blue and magenta. The are among my favorites for getting good secondary colors. On the left, I did a blend from each color into another color. It got a bit messy, so ai spiffed up the mess with some marks. On the right, I wet the places between the primary colors with water. Then I used blobs of each of the two primary colors in question to see ways they mixed and ran on a wet space.  Both triad approaches were fun.

Since I made friends with this lonely little sketchbook it will likely get more use during the time-out dealing with an irritable back.  This class was well-taught,  interesting and fun. Thanks very much, Ramona, for a great opportunity to do some art-play and experience the joy of color-mixing!
