Graduation Drawing

Graduation Drawing - student project

I took advantage of artistic license and fixed a slightly flat side to my arched door by adding a framing post to correct it. I also used more of a vertical rectangle for my picture plane which I used to create an impression of a front yard.

To my chagrin I accidentally forgot to double check my spacing for my headline before committing to ink. I was over-confident and am too tired to realize the folly in my actions. The last four words look like one long word. Fortunately, it’s a mistake I won’t make again.

This was a fun class. I have a BFA in Ceramics and feel I got cheated from my Drawing II Instructor, he loved my first project and made me focus only on that, which was not a drawing per se. I would have loved to take more drawing classes in college, but Skillshare is a great resource for all things creative and I am gaining a great arsenal of knowledge and am honing my skills as an artist with every course I take. I am well on my way to 100 courses. I was pleased to come across your classes Jessica. I’d love to know more about your being a gardener from a dry climate, as well, because as a novice gardener in Arizona we definitely have at least a couple common interests. I also joined your facebook group. I hope to get to know you and glean as much information as I possibly can from your  knowledge and experience in Art (and maybe even some advice in desert gardening). ‍

Have a glorious day and thanks again for a great classes!

I promise to review the “adding words” section before continuing to add them to my Foolproof Drawing Journal. Which is indeed foolproof, I am three days into journaling with an preparation two days prepping the journal and adding some of the sections like the permission slips to the back porch and artwork to its front cover and the title page. I’m loving this journaling method, thanks bunches!

Sincerely,

Jenni James
