Gouache forests in winter

This was nice! I love this whimsical way of working, but I also need to 'allow' myself to work this way in stead of practicing more realistic drawing skills...
I do want to do both, because practicing realistic drawing feeds into this type of illustration, so looking for a balance!
I chose a wintery color palette of purples, blues and pinks and touches of green.
I think I should go and get myself some pan pastels! I was looking at them in the shop, but december is an expensive month!
This one I like best, it's very fairy tale like to me, magic and a little bit spooky. I used neocolors for the sky and pencils and ink for the details. The gouache is very cheap gouache, bought specially for experimenting!
